Artist's Comments

I’ve missed the deadlines for the last two contests I’ve aimed for, and I was seeing a third about to fly by me as well. I decided that it was getting to be a bad habit and decided to do my best to make something after all during the four last days. And now, after a long night, I’m flinging myself across the finish line at the last day.

The background and the curtains are rather rushed, but I’m pleased with the man and his face, and not to mention the speed in which I managed to get it done, compared to how I usually plod along *ehem* It’s not a winner I fear, but it’s certainly not a dud either :D

Amazing!
The rain and drops of water are gorgeous.
The designs on the curtains are very cool too!
Wow!

Thank you, I wanted the water to look impressive. Especially considering as I suspected the fire would be less so ;)

Funny, you said the curtains and background are rushed, but I was gonna comliment on them. Looks very athmopheric and I love the drops of rain and the patterns on the curtain.

As to the man, you're right, he came out really good. I love the face and the expression, all works together really nicely. The edge of his upper body at the window side just looks slightly weird to me, but aside from that I really got nithing to complain. Great work!

Wow, lovely work!!
The first thing that stood out in my mind was that gorgeous rain, then it was the amount of emotions shown.
Great details and I have to mention how much I like those curtains.
Wonderful job!

Lovely work. :) I'm really enjoying the style in which you paint your work. I think the rain here turned out especially well.

Mentally I think I excluded the rain from the background group, it was almost like a second character to manage ;)But I'm very happy that they are getting a lot of nice comments :D

I see what you mean about the edge of his back. I was trying to edge my way away from that outlined look, but it got a bit jagged and messy there and I was too tired to fix it.

Thank you. I aim to please ;)

Thank you *preens* ;)I'm glad what I wanted to stand out most seems to be doing so.
