Maybe not every caterpillar turns into butterflies and moths. Just maybe, there is another option.
I finally got to use those leaves brushes I made way back. They could be better, but as a base for some quick work they seem to have been enough.
I wanted it to look a bit secretive, so I kept it slightly outside of the natural focus area and in much the same colours scheme. Though I think if I revisited this idea I might make more of hiding it among leaves and suchlike, but make it more colourful and detailed too. Hidden but also more visible in a way. Perhaps a closeup...
Sorry for the late reply, there's moving plans afoot and between cleaning, plotting and worrying there hasn't been much time for replying. Or making art for that matter Anyway, as for making it, I do most of the work in Photoshop, but lately I've gotten the habit of taking it in it's final stages into Corel Painter 11, and using the coarse oily brush under blenders to drag the paint about a bit. It's like a strong smudge with textured teeth to it.
